At MagnifyMoney, our mission is to help people lead financially healthy lives. We make that a reality by providing consumers with free information, tools and calculators. If you have a personal finance question, we want our site to provide an answer that is accurate, easy to understand and actionable. If you want to shop for a financial product, we want our site to be the easiest place for you to compare, switch and save. For far too long, personal finance has been intimidating. We want to empower people with the information and the confidence they need to make wise financial choices.
MagnifyMoney’s news blog features in-depth features and articles that cover a range of personal finance topics -- from the dangers of subprime auto lending and how to invest wisely to navigating your finances in retirement and paying down debt. Our editorial team is led by veteran personal finance reporter and editor Mandi Woodruff and includes a team of two dozen full-time and freelance writers, editors and video producers.
Content from our team has been syndicated by news sites such as Business Insider, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report and through our partnership with TEGNA, Inc., a publicly traded broadcast and digital media company which owns more than 40 local news networks across the U.S.
As part of our commitment to keep consumers informed, we strive to keep the editorial content that appears on our site transparent and unbiased. The blog operates independently according to our strict editorial code.
Banks and companies can NOT pay to appear in our product recommendations. We have a team of analysts and banking experts that is constantly looking for the best deals. Our goal is to find the best financial products for consumers, and worry about the money later.
To find those products with the best deals and savings opportunities for our audience, we look at the Top 100 Banks, the Top 100 credit unions and then a long list of start-ups and other challenger brands to see if we can find an even better deal. We update these results every single day.
MagnifyMoney generates the bulk of its revenue from affiliate referrals from some of the products that we mention on our site. That revenue allows all of the content, tools and calculators on our site to remain free to our users.
Once we have settled on our top recommendations across a range of products (from personal loans to balance transfer offers), only then do we go out and see if any of the products we recommend have referral deals (or “affiliate links.”) That means they pay us a commission when a MagnifyMoney user ends up opening an account with them.
