U.S. Pride® BankAmericard Cash Rewards™ Credit Card From Bank Of America -Magnifymoney Review rating card

Product description:

Bank of America does offer charity cards (World Wildlife Fund, for example) where they will give a % of your spend to charities on an annual basis.  We like those cards.

But, this card confuses us.  The name of the card, and the bald eagle and American flag – makes it look like they would be contributing to a good cause for our servicemen. But, they don’t.  This is just a credit card with a nice plastic design.

You receive 1% cashback on all of your spend.

You have the chance to earn even more cashback in certain categories.  Each quarter, you will receive:

  • 3% cashback on gas, and
  • 2% cashback at grocery stores and now at wholesale clubs.

However, this is capped to $2,500 of combined spend per quarter ($6,000 per year).  If you spend more than $2,500 per quarter combined, then you will earn 1% on the incremental spend.

If your grocery bill is bigger than your gas bill, then consider the Blue Cash Everyday from American Express (they offer 3% on groceries and wholesale clubs also, 2% on gas).

A nice added incentive to have a Bank of America account: if you have your cashback deposited into your Bank of America account, then you will receive a 10% bonus.

There is no intro offer.

You also have a 0% introductory interest rate for any purchases and balance transfer.  We strongly urge against a balance transfer, because if you spend on the card you will automatically be charged interest.  The 0% purchase offer can be nice, if you are looking for some short-term financing.

We believe that everyone should be able to achieve at least 1.5% cashback on their everyday spend, without an annual fee.  This card could help you achieve that (or more) depending upon where you spend your money.  Make sure you input your spend into our calculator so that you can see how much cashback you can earn – and how it compares to other cards.
