If you have a serious case of FOMO and don’t want to miss out on this summer’s hottest shows, your credit card may hold deals on exclusive presales and preferred seating. American Express, Citi and Chase provide eligible cardholders access to some of the most popular events like Jay-Z and Beyonce’s “On The Run II” tour and Lady Gaga’s Las Vegas Residency.

How to use your American Express card for exclusive access

American Express is the official card of Ticketmaster, so cardmembers may browse the ticketing giant’s offers and ticket presales for American Express cardholders here. Follow @AmericanExpress on Twitter and sign up for Membership Experience® emails to stay current with new ticket presales and offers.

Step-by-step: How to buy concert tickets early with American Express

Ticketmaster

  1. Search for your event. There are two ways you can search for events:
    1. Directly search an artist on Ticketmaster.
    2. Scroll through available events on American Express’ page on Ticketmaster. As you can see below, there are 500 events in the New York/tri-State area alone. That’s a lot to sift through to find one event, so we recommend using the direct search option.

You can also refer to the how-to page on Ticketmaster’s site for more details.

How to use your Citi card for exclusive access

Citi provides a simple way to stay up-to-date with the latest concerts and events via the Citi® Private Pass® website. There, you can search for upcoming concerts, sporting events and more in your area. Plus, you can subscribe to weekly Citi® Private Pass® emails or follow @CitiPrivatePass on Twitter to stay in the loop.

Citi offers two types of exclusive ticket access with Citi® Cardmember Presale or Citi® Cardmember Preferred Tickets. Some events even offer both, with Preferred Tickets typically costing more than those from Presale. You can access these tickets either from the Citi® Private Pass® website or directly from Ticketmaster. We recommend searching from the Citi® Private Pass® website since it will only show events with exclusive access while Ticketmaster will also show events that lack special access.

Step-by-step how to buy concert tickets

Citi® Private Pass® website

1. Enter an artist’s name in the search bar and you’ll see events populate if they have current offers. Click on your event or hit “Go” to view the complete list.

2. Once you select the show you want to purchase tickets for, a box will pop up asking for your approval to direct you to a third-party site. When you click on “ACCEPT,” it will take you to the site where you can purchase your tickets. In this case, it was Ticketmaster.

3. From there, you may be automatically prompted to enter an offer code.

Or, you will need to click on “Type” and enter the code:

4. The code is the first six digits of your Citi® credit card or Citibank Debit Mastercard® account number (no dashes). Take note, when completing payment, you must purchase tickets using your valid Citi® credit card or Citibank Debit Mastercard.*

Although we recommend searching directly through the Citi® Private Pass® website, you can also search via Ticketmaster:

Ticketmaster

1. Search for your event.

2. Once you’ve selected your event, if there are Citi® Cardmember Presale tickets, you will get a pop-up that looks like this:

If an event doesn’t offer a Citi® Cardmember Presale or the presale has ended, there may be Citi® Cardmember Preferred Tickets available. After selecting your event, click on “Type” and enter your offer code.

3. The code is the first six digits of your Citi® credit card or Citibank Debit Mastercard® account number (no dashes). Remember, when completing payment, you must purchase tickets using your valid Citi® credit card or Citibank Debit Mastercard.*

How to use your Chase card for exclusive access

Chase is a marquee partner with the Madison Square Garden company, providing eligible cardholders access to preferred seating and first access to select entertainment and sports events at select MSG venues across the U.S. In addition, you can receive food and merchandise discounts as well as exclusive lounge access. For more information on partner venues and discounts as well as current ticket sales, check out the Chase Select Experiences site.

Step-by-step how to buy concert tickets

1. Select an event from the Chase Select Experiences site.

2. After selecting an event, a box will pop up asking for your approval to direct you to a third-party site. Click “ACCEPT” and it will take you to the site where you can purchase your tickets. In this case, it was Ticketmaster.

3. Verify that this event has Chase Cardmember Preferred Seating by clicking on “Type.” Chase Cardmember Preferred Seating doesn’t typically require an offer code, but if it prompts you to enter one, the code is the first six digits of your Chase credit card account number. Take note that cards starting with a 6 or 7 may not be eligible for all offers. While no code may be required, you are still required to pay for your tickets with your eligible Chase credit card.*

Although we recommend searching directly through the Chase Select Experiences site, you can also search via Ticketmaster:

Ticketmaster

1. Search for your event.

2. Once you’ve selected your event, you can check whether Chase Cardmember Preferred Seating is available by clicking on “Type” to view the ticket type drop-down menu. If it is available, select the tickets you want and complete your purchase with your eligible Chase credit card. Note: If a code is required, it’s the first six digits of your Chase credit card account number (cards starting with a 6 or 7 may not be eligible for all offers).*

*Tickets may not be available for all events and aren’t guaranteed just because you have an American Express, Citi or Chase card. All tickets are subject to availability and terms apply.
