Suncoast Regular Share Membership

  • APY: 0.25% on balances $5 and over
  • Minimum opening deposit: $5
  • Monthly fee: $0

You must open and maintain the Suncoast Regular Share Membership account when you become a Suncoast Credit Union member. Though its 0.25% APY isn’t far from the national average for savings accounts (0.07% APY as of June 2022, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation), you can find better savings rates elsewhere. However, the lack of monthly fee is a nice perk. You must keep a balance of at least $5 in this account to remain a Suncoast member.

This is a low-stakes traditional savings account where you can watch your money grow, make savings deposits on the go via a highly rated mobile app and gain access to several other banking products (car loans, mortgages and more). Members can automatically transfer money among Suncoast accounts –– whether it’s loan payments from savings or checking.

You can also automate your savings process by signing up for payroll deduction. A portion of your paycheck will automatically be deposited into your savings account on payday.

To open the account, first join the Suncoast Credit Union at a branch near you or by applying online here.

As with other Suncoast savings accounts, you can use the credit union’s online banking and mobile app, enroll in automatic transfer between other Suncoast accounts and sign up for payroll deduction for a more streamlined savings process.
